Are you ready for a new bike? Measure before you buy!
Are you planning to buy a new bike? On this page, you can read what Optimal Cycling can do for you in this difficult quest with this package. Using the Purely Custom bike, I can easily set a desired geometry with a number of rotary levers. This allows us to look very specifically at which bike would suit you best, including all necessary components such as; crank length, steering width and stem length. Or if you already have your eye on a bike, how it should be optimally adjusted. Ultimately, this way, I can determine your optimal bike settings!
This process corresponds to the optimal package, but after everything has been analyzed, the data will be processed into a database that lists all bicycles of all brands and frames with their geometries. This way, you can therefore perfectly see which brand and frame with the necessary components is right for you! Of course, this can be specified according to your own preferred brands and price range. If you have then received the bike, we will schedule another appointment to make the exact adjustments!
Why this package is right for you?
Choosing a bike based on a size chart for height is guesswork. If you're willing to spend your hard earned money on a new bike and invest many, many hours into riding it, you want to know exactly what you're buying. Optimal Cycling will act as your reliable and impartial advisor so you can find the bike you've always been looking for.
Optimal Cycling does not sell bicycles... and is therefore completely impartial. As an independent bikefit studio, we have no obligations to certain brands, we can offer you a completely unbiased service. That way, you know that we always have only your best interests at heart.
If you're confused by all the marketing, geometry, tables, and component options, it's time to take your knowledge to the next level with a trusted expert. The more you know, the better decisions you can make.
All size charts and calculators are not personal but based on averages. If you find yourself falling between two standards, this is a common problem that is easy to solve. You are an individual with a unique body and specific riding goals.
A bike's geometry plays a key role in how your bike handles and how it responds to your movements. More detailed information about this can be found in the blog “Geometry: What is it and why is it so important to buy a new bike?”
Personally, I am of the opinion that it is always advisable to do a bike fit with a fit bike beforehand. This way, you know in advance which bikes meet your personal requirements and you won't be surprised. Especially considering the current bikes, where the cabling runs inside and the steering wheel and stem form a whole (cockpit). This is labour-intensive to replace and also expensive.
With this in mind, the first thing to do is ask yourself what you're going to use your bike for, what types of terrain you plan to ride on, your own physical abilities, and your own personal preferences. The bikes that show the professionals on TV are focused on delivering performance. They mainly ride in a deep aggressive position to catch as little wind as possible. In addition, they train in this position every day and, in addition to cycling, they are also busy with agility and trunk stability exercises.
In general, a bicycle's geometry must be sufficiently balanced to ensure a good combination of stability, ease of handling and comfort, bearing in mind that some disciplines require a more specific geometry. It's practically impossible to find the perfect bike for all terrains and all conditions.
