The not only stiff, but also lightweight R2 carbon outsole ensures efficient power transfer to the pedals. A wide vent and deep internal channels provide cooling airflow for better temperature control. The cleat mount is placed a little further back than is traditionally done. This results in optimized pedaling efficiency and reduced pressure on the knees. Aero-focused drivers in particular benefit from this.

A slightly narrower toebox. Designed for riding with a very high cadence, higher pressure and a slimmer fit. The wide version offers 15 mm extra volume at the ball of the foot compared to the standard wide last. This shoe is aimed at people with narrow feet.
Fizik's R2 outsole is made of carbon fiber, which saves weight and provides more stiffness. With an index of 10, the R2 is the stiffer outsole in the fizik range. A wide vent and deep internal channels provide cooling airflow, which contributes to temperature control. The cleat placement is slightly further back compared to traditional settings to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee compression, especially suitable for highly aggressive, forward aero positions.
